We start from the hotel and head to the Gartnerkofel chairlift station, then ride up to the Berghex. From there, we follow a trail below the Gartnerkofel to the Kühweger Thörl. We then descend to the Kühweger Alm, where we’ll take a break. The return route takes us back up to the Kühweger Thörl and back to the hotel.

Nassfeld Panorama Hike
We start from the hotel and head to the Gartnerkofel chairlift, riding up to Berghex. From there, we follow the forest road at the foot of the Auernig to the Italian border and the Madritschenbahn. We’ll drive you about 2 km toward “Caserno” in the Almmobil. After crossing a small meadow, we’ll hike to Stammboden along the “Alta Via.” Below the ridge, we’ll find lush flower-covered slopes, including Turkish bellflowers and fire lilies. The descent takes us to the Winkelalm for a picnic.

A special day for anyone who wants to discover the variety of climbing. We’ll climb up the rock face, secured (top-rope) by an experienced climbing guide.
We’ll also ascend a short via ferrata and then rappel back down. For the more adventurous, there’s also a “zip line” across a gorge.

High Ropes Course "Felsenlabyrinth" with Flying Fox
There are two options. You can either take an easy 30-minute walk from the hotel to the climbing park, or you can take the Piccolo Express, which takes our guests to the Tressdorfer Alm. From there, it’s just a 10-minute walk.
Covering over 40,000 m², the Outdoor Park Nassfeld powered by Sport Sölle is surprisingly diverse—and Carinthia’s largest outdoor adventure park. From climbing and the Flying Fox to 3D archery, the grounds at the Tressdorfer Alm promise unforgettable family experiences.

We ride from the hotel along the HP6 trail to the Garnitzenalm and across the border to the Ofenalm on the Italian side of Nassfeld. From there, we follow a forest trail to the Auernig Alm and back to the Nassfeld Pass. If this tour is enough for you, you can return to the hotel without any regrets. For those up for a challenge, David continues on to the Rossalm and the Tressdorfer Alm before heading back to the hotel.

Lake Pressegger See is considered one of the warmest swimming lakes in Austria. That’s why it’s the destination of our family bike tour. We’ll start at the Hotel zur Tressdorfer Alm and take the Millennium Express to Tröpolach. From there, we’ll follow the R3 trail to Presseggen, where we’ll relax at the beach. The return trip takes us back to Tröpolach.

1 Night in a Tent Outdoors = A Pure Adventure
Spending a day and night outdoors is a truly special experience. Together with Marco, you’ll become scouts for a day. At 5:30 p.m., we’ll start getting ready—packing your backpack (sleeping bag, sleeping pad, etc.). Please bring a towel, water bottle, and warm clothes for the night. We’ll go on a hike through nature and have lots of “nature” experiences until we reach the campsite. At the campsite, we’ll set up the tents, build a fire, … Then we’ll play games like soccer and “slackline,” and Marco will share some useful tips about nature, the mountains, and hiking. Afterward, we’ll have a barbecue together around the campfire and enjoy a cozy evening.

Magic Afternoon and Magic Show
For our youngest guests, we offer a magic workshop followed by a magic show performed by the children. Our magician, Harry Fox, teaches the children magic tricks and spends an educational and surely unforgettable afternoon with them. The meeting point is at the Kids’ Club. After approximately 1.5 hours of workshop, the magic show takes place in our courtyard.
Ride on the “Pendolino” Summer Toboggan Run
The Pendolino summer toboggan run takes you on a thrilling downhill ride—with safety measures in place, of course. Over the course of about two kilometers, you’ll cover more than 400 meters in elevation, winding through curve after curve. The run stretches from the Madritsche mountain station of the Millennium-Express gondola to the Tressdorfer Alm midway station.
This makes the summer toboggan run the longest in Carinthia—and a special treat for the whole family. Children seven and older are allowed to ride alone. Younger children ride with their parents.
The best way to reach the summer toboggan run is with a short walk to the middle station of the Millennium Express gondola. From there, take the gondola directly to the start. Of course, you can also use the Piccolo Express, which stops right at the middle station.

Pig Washing for Kids
Once a week, guests join Martin Waldner, the host of the Hotel Gartnerkofel, for pig washing.
The exciting ride up to the alp begins on the tractor. The pigs eagerly await the refreshing cool-down. The kids grab their rubber boots and off they go to the pigs. First, we pet our pigs, then lovingly spray them with water and wash them. When things get really messy, we even bring out the piglet shampoo. A fantastic experience for both children and adults.
Afterward, horseback riding for children takes place at the Tressdorfer Alm. The children get the chance to gain experience riding the horses from the Noriker stud farm of Daniel Haberle.
