At 2,585 metres above sea level, Nassfeld in the Carnic Alps is located right on the border to Italy and is only a two-hour drive from the Adriatic Sea. The surrounding mountains, Gartnerkofel, Rosskofel and Trogkofel, are known for the fascinating tours they offer across gentle alpine pastures amidst a vast mountain landscape.Protected flowering beauty.
The Nassfeld is also known the world over for its unique Wulfenia, a flower which is strictly protected and can only be found here and in the Himalayas. The Wulfenia flower is in full bloom every year between early June and early July.
